The mom jeans

For someone who has been addicted to high-waisted skinny jeans for the past couple of years, falling in love with a pair of straight leg and a bit baggy fitting jeans is something quite unexpected. Recently I was looking for a non skinny pair of jeans as I wanted to change my style a little bit and try something less laid back with a more relaxed fit. It didn’t matter what style it would be but it had to be high-waisted. The reason for that is because I feel that high-waisted jeans are most flattering as they create the illusion of longer legs and I love how they give older fashion vibes from the 70s.

I was always fascinated with the mom jeans mostly because they were part of 80s-early 90s fashion (my favorite era), but all my Topshop attempts were a complete failure. When I saw these pants in ASOS I was a bit hesitant at first but I thought I could at least try. Once they arrived and I put them on I was blown away! They are extremely comfortable and their fit was amazing. I love how they flatter my body although they are baggy and loose. I prefer them rolled up a little for a more relaxed and 60s style. They are perfect with a simple t-shirt or a button up shirt and with flats and heels. I love clothes and items in general that are versatile and can be worn from daytime to nighttime. The material is soft, quite thick and good quality as it doesn’t rub off, and it is not stretchy at all. I love pairing them with a plain white t-shirt or an off shoulder blouse and a pair of espadrilles for a Cote d’Azur inspired look. A nice vest top and a pair of plain sandals or pumps create an effortless fancier look.

Although they are far from the tight-fitting skinny jeans, mom jeans are pretty and flattering as well. More relaxed and comfortable, they create a laid back vibe and an effortless look. I absolutely love them and I love how confident they make me feel. Absolutely perfect! Totally my new favorite pair! What do you guys think about mom jeans style?
